Adam Markovic was born in Chicago in 1972; he lives and works in Montreal.
Markovic studied Fine Arts at the at the Northeast Missouri State University (USA). In 2002,he received further training at the Charles Cecil Studio in Florence where he was instructed in the manner of the Realist studios of the 17th century. Working for a period in New York creating custom wooden furniture, he returned to Florence in 2008 where he opened Studio Santo Spirito, an atelier where he taught traditional drawing and painting techniques while at the same time promoting the importance of contemporary themes and materials.
Markovic has had numerous shows in Europe, Canada and the United States. In 2013 he was the curators’ pick of “up and coming artists” at the Toronto International Art Fair.
