JAMES MORTIMER

James Mortimer was born in England in 1989; he lives and works in Bath, England.

Mortimer studied sculpture at the Bath School of Art (UK) however as a painter he is essentially self-taught. James describes himself as a person who loves "supreme fascination with vice" and "the cult of decadence" and having an "excessive passion for birds". His works typically portray a fantastical world reflecting heavily upon the neo-classical architecture of his environments in the Georgian city of Bath. Furthermore, his works have been influenced by the characters he met during his travels in Eastern Europe and China.

Mortimer has exhibited frequently in both Italy and the United Kingdom.
